Grounded

So, I have recently grounded myself from craft supply stores.  I always spend too much money and come home with too many projects.  i go in for the supplies for one project (i.e. yarn for a baby blanket), and I come home with multiple yarns, fabrics, etc. thinking that "one day" i "could" make such and such with this one, and such and such with that.  I have a sickness, people.  Anyway, so I grounded myself from fabric stores and promised myself that I would use up what I have first.

So today I made a baby quilt for one of my friends.  I just started sifting through the bits and pieces of fabric that I already have and managed to put together some cute ones.  Now, I realize that I am not an amazing seamstress (my hems aren't perfectly straight, may fabric patterns don't line up perfectly horizontal or vertical or whatever), but I have to say I was pretty happy with how this turned out.  Not too shabby for "use what you've got".   So, I just had to share.  :)

So, I'm usually pretty strict about the kids not jumping on the furniture, but a serious lack of sleep and a migraine tend to make me a little less "gestapo" (thanks for the word of the day, Elizabeth!).  They were, of course, thrilled that I was not well...
